TRADING CONTEST: THE BIGGEST TRADING COMPETITION
IN EUROPE SINCE 1999
WITH A FOREX CONTEST CATEGORY
The oldest trading contest is the « US Investing Championship » which was run from 1983 up to 1997 by Norm Zadeh, a visiting professor at the Columbia University, Ucla and Standford. In the following years this trading contest became well known all around USA and the weekly magazine Barron's was the official media partner of the trading competition.
The US Investing Championship was featured in the book seller autobiography ?Pit Bull? by Martin Schwartz, a 3 times in a row winner of this trading contest.
Just one year later in 1984 began the « World Cup Trading Challenge », maybe the most famous real money trading contest worldwide, organized by the US broker Robbins (www.robbinstrading.com). In 1987 Larry Williams with a starting capital of $10.000 managed to end up after 12 months of trading competition with $ 1.000.000 (+11.376%) and he became the most renowned trader around. And still today he is. Last year more than 100 traders joined the Robbins World Cup.
Since 1999 LombardReport.com organizes in Europe the ?International Top Trader Championship with real money?, a trading contest that in 2006 will arrive to its eighth edition (www.toptradercup.com). In 2004 7 Italian, Swiss, German and Spanish brokers entered the competitionunder the sponsorship of Eurex.
Since 2002 in France the monthly magazine Capital and the French broker Cortal organize a national trading contest under the name of «les Trophées Capital de la Bourse» (www.capital.fr).
What is a real money trading contest
There is a deep difference between a virtual trading game and a real money trading contest: the first is truly a ?game? where fortune accounts as much as the trader forecasting skill, the latter is a trial where bravery, personality and a professional trading approach has the better of fortune. In case of a real money trading contest, winners have a high reputation to spend in the industry like newsletter and book writers, trading educators, testimonials, etc. etc. On the contrary history has not so far proved evidence of some winners of a virtual trading contest that were able to profit from their title.
We can conclude that a real money trading contest produces a high credibility that can hardly be matched by a virtual trading contest.

There will be a wall screen where the single monitors of the traders will be projected so that everybody in the hall will be able to follow closely the trading contest. A journalist will moderate the final round and questions from the public are well accepted and solicited.
During our trading contest the partial weekly standing (including forex contest category) will be published on the media partners with interviews, comments, analysis, forecasts by the first traders classified in the competition. In that way the media partners will be able to have an exclusive information content which is much appreciated by the readers since these traders are ?next door heroes? and not superstar trader or financial guru.
